Pas de chance is a small collaborative artist-book, mail-art and literary press. I’ve lost count of the number of releases, but it’s somewhere over 50, maybe even 75 titles by now! Editions run anywhere from 50 to 1000 copies and include the written work of authors Elissa Joy, Derek McCormack, David Tinmouth, and many others.  Most of the titles are fully illustrated by me, but many of the projects contain the art and photography of a wider group of individuals.

Here are a few words from various articles that have featured our work.

“Each and every title published by Pas de chance is an art-object. Text, image, design, texture, and ornament are all conceptually unified by the eccentric tastes of their maker, who, going against conventional wisdom, works hard to turn the common into the incomparable, and succeeds” -– Flaunt Magazine

often funny, always imaginative.” –- Toronto Life

a fetish house for people who still find the printed word and its casing a lovely thing to behold.” —- This Magazine.
